A Redding man has been booked into the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of murder following the shooting death of a woman inside a Washington Avenue residence.
In an update issued October 26th, the Redding Police Department identified the suspect as Justin Knight, 39, of Redding.
The investigation began Friday, October 23rd, 2026, when officers responded at approximately 5:16 a.m. to a report of a possible gunshot victim inside a home in the 2300 block of Washington Avenue. Officers found an adult woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
