Redwood Waste Solutions tests porch pickup for plastic film and fabrics

Redwood Waste Solutions is testing a porch pickup service for plastic film, worn clothing and other materials that do not belong in curbside recycling bins. The pilot is available in select locations and costs $10 per bag.

The program accepts clean, dry plastic film such as grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap and resealable bags. It also takes torn fabric, damaged clothing that cannot be donated, old blankets and mismatched shoes. Textile items must be dry and free of odors.

How to schedule a pickup

Call Redwood Waste Solutions at 707-234-6400 before your regular collection day to check whether your address qualifies and schedule pickup. Use 13 gallon trash bags and put plastic film and fabrics in separate bags. Once your pickup is scheduled, leave the bags on your porch on your regular collection day.

You can also take accepted materials to select transfer stations. Redwood Waste Solutions
