Redding Halloween Weekend: Nash Ranch Pumpkins and a Morning Harvest Market

Nash Ranch's pumpkin season continues through November 1st, while Redding's Halloween Harvest Market brings family activities to City Hall on October 31st.

Families looking for fall activities in Redding still have time to visit Nash Ranch's pumpkin patch, and Halloween morning brings a separate harvest celebration to the farmers market at City Hall.

With October ending this weekend, the remaining dates are worth checking before making plans. Nash Ranch lists its pumpkin season through November 1st, while the Halloween Harvest Market is scheduled for October 31st.

Nash Ranch's final pumpkin weekend

Nash Ranch Pumpkin Patch is at 10925 Old Oregon Trail in Redding. The ranch describes this season as its 36th year as Shasta County's original pumpkin patch.

The pumpkin patch opens at 11 AM on weekdays and 10 AM on weekends, closing at 6 PM. On Friday and Saturday, the corn maze is scheduled to remain open until 11 PM. The ranch specifies that only the corn maze stays open after 6 PM.

The patch features more than 30 varieties of pumpkins, winter squash and gourds grown across 20 acres. Pumpkins and squash are priced by the pound.

Weekend activities include craft vendors, food concessions and children's attractions. Some activities depend on weather, and the ranch says most independent vendors attend on weekends.

Admission and activity costs

Nash Ranch lists no general admission charge. On Saturdays and Sundays, the organization running the parking fundraiser requests a suggested donation of $5 per car.

The ranch's published rates list the corn maze at $6 per person during the day and $10 at night. Train rides are $4 per person, with children ages 2 and younger riding at no charge.

Other listed activities include a $4 children's air pillow attraction, weather permitting, a $3 petting zoo benefiting 4 H and a $1 miniature corn maze for young children. The straw bale maze and little children's play area have no admission charge.

Families should check the ranch's current information before traveling because attractions, weather conditions and availability can change.

Halloween morning at City Hall

The seventh annual Halloween Harvest Market is scheduled for Saturday, October 31st, from 7:30 AM to noon at 777 Cypress Avenue.

Organized by Redding Farmer's Markets, the event combines the regular market with Halloween activities. The posted program includes trick or treating, face painting, games and live music.

The event listing also advertises a pumpkin for each family at no charge while supplies last. Availability is limited, so that offer should not be read as a guarantee for every arriving family.

Families can shop for seasonal produce while taking part in the celebration. No event admission price is stated in the Visit Redding listing; purchases and any separately priced activities should be checked with the organizer.
