Residents of King Salmon, Fields Landing and Elk River can learn about potential winter flooding and rainy season preparations at a community meeting tonight, Wednesday, November 4th, in Eureka.

The Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services will hold the meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. at Humboldt Hill Grange, 5845 Humboldt Hill Road, Eureka, CA 95503.

The discussion will cover what El Niño could mean for local communities this winter, possible flooding impacts and steps residents can take to prepare for the rainy season.

Although the meeting is intended for King Salmon, Fields Landing and Elk River residents, everyone is welcome. There is no admission charge.

For those unable to attend at the Grange, OES says the meeting will be livestreamed on the Humboldt County OES Facebook page.

This is the first of four community meetings. Residents looking for a meeting serving another community can find the full upcoming schedule on the agency’s Facebook page.
