Enterprise powers past Shasta 42 to 7 for third straight River Bowl title
Enterprise defeated Shasta 42 to 7 at Thompson Field to claim its third consecutive River Bowl victory. Junior running back Koby Johnson scored four rushing touchdowns as the Hornets answered an early Shasta score with 42 unanswered points. The win improved Enterprise’s season record to 6 wins and 2 losses.

REDDING, Calif. — Enterprise High School kept the River Bowl trophy with a commanding 42 to 7 victory over Shasta on Friday, October 23rd, at Thompson Field.
The 34th River Bowl started with an early spark for the Wolves, but the Hornets took control behind junior running back Koby Johnson and a defense that shut out Shasta for the remainder of the game.
Johnson finished with four rushing touchdowns, matching his touchdown total from last year’s River Bowl. His performance helped Enterprise secure its third consecutive victory in the annual rivalry.
Shasta strikes early
Shasta opened the scoring on the third play from scrimmage when quarterback Aaden Braud connected with receiver Eli Dahl on a screen pass. Dahl took it 72 yards for a touchdown, putting the Wolves ahead.
Shasta then recovered an Enterprise fumble on the Hornets’ opening possession, creating an opportunity to extend its lead. Enterprise’s defense held, keeping the deficit at seven points.
That defensive stand helped set the direction for the rest of the night. Shasta’s opening touchdown would be its only score.
Johnson helps turn the game
Enterprise found its answer in the second quarter when Johnson broke loose for a 55 yard touchdown run to tie the game.
He later added a touchdown from one yard out after a 67 yard carry brought the Hornets to the doorstep. Enterprise entered halftime with a 14 to 7 lead.
The Hornets widened the gap with 21 points in the third quarter, then added another touchdown in the fourth. Enterprise finished with 42 unanswered points.
Johnson’s four rushing touchdowns followed another four touchdown River Bowl performance in 2025, giving him eight rushing scores across the last two editions of the rivalry.
Another chapter in a Redding tradition
The result marked Enterprise’s 21st River Bowl victory since the game was established in 1993.
For the players, students, alumni and families connected to both schools, the matchup remains a significant date on Redding’s high school football calendar. This year’s game brought another crowd to Thompson Field, with Enterprise ultimately taking home the trophy again.
The Hornets improved to 6 wins and 2 losses overall and 2 wins and 1 loss in Eastern Athletic League play. Shasta fell to 5 wins and 3 losses overall and remained winless through three league games.
Enterprise is scheduled to host Foothill on Friday, October 30th, while Shasta travels to Pleasant Valley.
