Shasta County voters have several ways to cast a ballot before the November 3rd election. Find early voting information, Redding City Hall ballot drop box details, Election Day polling hours and reminders about mailing and tracking your ballot.

Election Day is almost here, and Shasta County voters still have several ways to cast their ballots before polls close Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026.
Whether you plan to vote early in downtown Redding, use an official ballot drop box or visit a polling place on Election Day, knowing the hours and deadlines can help you avoid a last minute scramble.
Early voting in downtown Redding
Early voting is available at the Shasta County Elections Office, 1643 Market Street in downtown Redding. Regular weekday hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., giving voters another opportunity to vote before Election Day on Monday, November 2nd.
Saturday, October 31st, is also a statewide early voting day, with participating locations open across California. Hours vary by location. Check the official early voting locator for locations and hours before making a Saturday trip.
Redding City Hall drop box bypasses the mail
An official ballot drop box is open in the roundabout in front of Redding City Hall. Ballots placed in this box are collected by Shasta County Elections Office workers two to three times per day and transported directly to the downtown elections office.
These ballots do not travel through the mail. For voters looking for a way to return their ballot without relying on a postal postmark, an official drop box provides that option.
Permanent and staffed ballot drop boxes are open, but access hours can vary. Review the Shasta County ballot drop box list and hours before heading out. Ballots returned in person must be delivered by 8 p.m. on Election Day, and some staffed locations may close earlier.
Election Day polling places open at 7 a.m.
Polling places throughout Shasta County will be open Tuesday, November 3rd, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Redding City Hall’s Community Room will serve as a polling location.
Voters can check their location through the county polling place finder. If you are in line when polls close at 8 p.m., you have the right to stay in line and vote.
Mailing your ballot? Pay attention to the postmark
Vote by mail ballots must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, November 3rd, and received by the county elections office no later than November 10th.
If mailing close to Election Day, take your ballot inside a United States Post Office and ask a postal employee for a manual, hand stamped postmark. Simply placing an envelope in a mailbox on Election Day does not guarantee it will receive that day’s postmark.
Follow the instructions with your ballot and sign the return envelope before returning it.
Leave campaign materials away from voting areas
Electioneering is prohibited in the immediate vicinity of people waiting in line to vote and within 100 feet of the entrance to a polling place, curbside voting area or ballot drop box, including those at Redding City Hall.
That includes advocating for or against a candidate or ballot measure through signs, spoken messages, campaign clothing, hats, buttons or other materials. Voters must also be able to access ballot drop boxes without obstruction or intimidation.
Track your ballot
California’s Where’s My Ballot? service lets voters track when their vote by mail ballot is mailed, received and counted, with notification options available.
For questions about local voting arrangements, contact the Shasta County Elections Office at 530-225-5730.
Make a plan now, check your location’s hours and give yourself enough time to return your ballot before the deadline. Thank you to everyone helping keep the voting process accessible for our community.
