Corning Police Report 141 Calls for Service and Nine Adult Arrests in Weekly Update
Corning Police Department reported 141 calls for service, nine adult arrests and 16 traffic stops in its weekly activity update dated October 30th, 2026, offering a snapshot of patrol and dispatch work in this Tehama County community.
The report also listed 399 total dispatch calls and a 911 ring time of under 10 seconds.
Patrol activity
Along with the 141 calls for service, the department recorded 79 officer initiated incidents. Its breakdown listed 16 traffic stops and 63 other officer initiated incidents. Eleven vehicle or pedestrian checks were also listed in the patrol statistics.
Officers recorded nine crime reports, one unclassified case and five information cases. The update did not describe the individual incidents behind those totals.
Arrests and citations
The department reported five adult misdemeanor arrests and four adult felony arrests, for a combined nine adult arrests. No juvenile arrests were listed in either category.
Officers also issued three misdemeanor citations and one parking citation. The report did not identify the offenses associated with the arrests or citations or provide court outcomes.
Dispatch activity
The dispatch section listed 50 inbound 911 calls and one abandoned 911 call. For administrative calls, the department listed 346 inbound calls and two abandoned calls. An outbound administrative call count was marked unavailable.
The department reported a total of 399 calls. Its listed 911 ring time was under 10 seconds. That figure describes the telephone ring time, rather than how long an officer took to reach an incident.
Community outreach
The October 30th update also announced that officers planned to participate in Treat Street that day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., with a table in front of City Hall and treats for children. The announcement accompanied the department’s Halloween themed activity report.
The weekly statistics do not include a comparison with an earlier reporting period, so the figures alone do not establish whether crime or demand for police services has increased or decreased. Calls for service, officer initiated activity and dispatch calls are separate measures and should not be added together as a count of individual crimes.
For nonemergency police or animal control matters in Corning, the department’s dispatch number is 530-824-7000. Call 911 for an emergency. Official city information is available through the City of Corning website.
