CHP: Driver Suspected of Marijuana Impairment Crashes Stolen Mercedes Into Honda, Sending Driver to Hospital
Willows CHP says a speeding driver in a stolen Mercedes rear ended a Honda CRV on Highway 162 near County Road 302, sending the Honda’s driver to the hospital. CHP suspects the Mercedes driver was under the influence of marijuana.

A driver was hospitalized after a stolen Mercedes slammed into the back of a Honda on Highway 162, according to Willows CHP.
CHP shared the report October24th, 2026, saying the crash happened the night before on State Route 162 near County Road 302.
According to CHP, the driver of a stolen Mercedes C250 was traveling at high speed when he came upon a slower Honda CRV and struck it from behind. The Honda’s driver suffered injuries requiring hospitalization.
CHP said the Mercedes driver was suspected of being under the influence of marijuana.
The agency also pointed to a separate crash roughly two weeks earlier in the same general area, where it said an impaired driver struck a motorcycle, killing the rider.
California Highway Patrol says these crashes affect people who are simply trying to get where they’re going. If you are impaired, stay out of the driver’s seat and arrange a sober ride.
